SUMMARY:The Golden Key to the Rosicrucian Mysteries & Labour of Love
DESCRIPTION:Talk given on Zoom by Peter Dawkins about the 1623 De Dignitate et Augmentis Scientiarum Folio\, twin to the 1623 Shakespeare First Folio\, which constitute the hierophantic golden and silver keys to the Rosicrucian Mysteries and were deliberately published in 1623\, the year of a Great Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter\, so as to act out the “As above\, so below” Hermetic teachings.\n2023 is the Quatercentenary of these two major works\, which were published at the same time\, like twins\, and have had a considerable and on-going effect on the whole world. \nThis talk focuses on the key symbolism\, cryptography\, mystery and underlying wisdom in Bacon’s Latin version of The Advancement of Learning\, published under the title of De Dignitate et Augmentis Scientiarum\, to show how it twins with the Shakespeare First Folio\, and how twinship is key to everything. \nThe Rosicrucian Mysteries derive their name from the ancient symbol of the Rose Cross\, but the use of the symbol to name a society or fraternity practising these mysteries began in 1570\, when the Society of the Golden and Rosy Cross was founded in England. In 1604 the RC Society began to make its name and work public\, thereby ushering in the modern scientific era. At that time Francis Bacon was the ‘Apollo’ and ‘Fra. CRC’ of the Rosicrucian Fraternity\, and he\, together with others\, set this work in motion across Europe\, and eventually the world\, under the name of ‘The Great Instauration’. \n(This talk was originally advertised as ‘Rosicrucian Mysteries Part 3.) \nCost £15. Please contact the organiser for further details if you wish to attend. \nAfter the talk\, there will be time for questions and answers\, insights and comments.
